A Strong Academic Reputation

Our teachers use a combination of two curriculum resources.

  1. Creative Curriculum
  2.  NC DCDEE approved North Carolina Foundations for Early Learning and Development

The Creative Curriculum approach balances both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning that fosters a child's development within the four developmental domains: social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language.

Foundations for Early Learning is a resource that guides teachers plans for implementing curriculum, establishing goals for children learning, and as a guide for age appropriate expectations for children's learning and development.

Our Academic Curriculum

At School for Little Folks, we take pride in our strong academic reputation. We are dedicated to providing a school-like experience for your child. Our goal is to make sure that your child is prepared for their "Big School" experience when the time comes.

Educational Programs

Our preschool education programs consist of meeting Social, Emotional, Academic, and Christian goals with each of our students. As part of our curriculum, we have a short 15-30 minute church service weekly lead by the Rector or Assistant Rector. This service is developmentally appropriate for children 2.5 to 5 years old. This chapel time includes singing and celebrating life and love. It focuses on good Christian values and morals taught through Bible stories and corresponding activities.

Parent Testimonial

"One of many features that stands out to me is the family atmosphere. The staff and teachers create an environment of kindness, respect and caring towards others. My child has learned sign language, self help skills, and friendship. She also counts very well. I would most definitely recommend this school to families after my experience. I have seen huge differences in all three of my children after attending St. James School for Little Folks. This school is a huge blessing!"
